How I'm Bullet Journaling Through 2019

I've been bullet journalling for a pretty long time now, it's got me through A-levels, university and all of the events in between. Upon noticing that my last post on the subject was pretty popular, I decided to show you the layouts and styles I've decided to use so far this year.

My style is very flowery, with lots of calligraphy and pops of colour every now and then. I've made the transition from black to grey for my weekly layouts, as I think this lends itself to a less harsh overall feel.

Undoubtedly, my main source of inspiration is Pinterest. I have a whole board filled with layouts, fonts etc. that I use when I'm a bit stuck with where to go next.

At the start of 2019, I wanted to evoke the idea of a fresh start, and did this by including my goals for the year, and also the key dates. I left a lot of blank space for the dates, so I could add events such as exams when I came to know when they were.

I like to structure my monthly layouts as follows:
  • Page spread (This includes the month and a calendar of the days within it)
  • A grid for my monthly finances
  • Weekly plans
My monthly spreads so far are as follows. I really enjoy creating these, and making them look as pretty as possible. As you can see, there's a lot of floral! I also enjoy using extra stationery whilst creating these, like the stamps you see in the April layout (so this month!)

The grid for my monthly finances is very simple, but so effective. This is so useful as a student, because I can ensure I am keeping within budget. It also allows me to calculate whether I can spend more on certain weeks, because I haven't spent much the week before. I add up as I go, so I can keep track without having a shock at the end of the week! Then, I add up all of my expenditure at the end of the month, to see how far I am under/over my originally planned budget.

My weekly plans haven't changed, but this is because they're so easy to create and fill out. I have a 'to do' and 'notes' section, which I add to as the week goes on. I love the fonts of these spreads, and they're so easy to quickly complete once you get into the swing of it, when you don't have much time.
