Finding My 'Blogging Aesthetic'

I feel like the term 'aesthetic' is thrown around a lot. In general, I think humans find identity an important thing. We use it to make decisions in regards to how we present ourselves, and what we surround ourselves with.

As a result of this, I'm in a bit of a blogging crisis.

Well, perhaps crisis is a bit strong.

I've been looking back at posts, and questioning whether they truly represented me as a person. Did they really show what I was interested in, and, more importantly, passionate about? Recently, I think I've been writing and creating in a style I feel I should be adhering to, rather than the content I want to be making.

As bloggers, we're surrounded by beautiful platforms. And I think it's so easy to look at them and think to ourselves, "My blog is not as good as that. Why don't I make my blog like that?"

So that is what I did. I created a blog that I was proud of, don't get me wrong. But the squeaky clean images and the subjects I posted about... they weren't all me. And I started to think, if I'm not being genuine, and therefore not feeling passionate about my content, how are other people going to enjoy it?

So I've made a bit of a radical decision. I've changed up my blog, and have vowed to myself that I will only write about subjects that excite me. Because, otherwise, what's the point?

I began this blog as a hobby, and wrote about whatever was going through my head. Although this has now evolved into more of a business, I still want it to be as true to myself as possible.

So I hope you stick around with me on this journey, as I try to create a blog that is as 'Lauren' as it can possibly be x
